Who is Expart
Sacha Tanis Hopmans
Owner, Career Coach/Trainer
While working and living abroad for over 15 years in 6 different countries both as an expat and expat partner, I gained extensive experience in cultural differences, the international job market and finding alternative career opportunities. In combination with my background in recruitment, business training and coaching, I now use my experience to coach and train expats and expat partners.
In all these years I have learnt that, continuing a career, having a job or finding alternative fulfilling activities are crucial to the way you experience your time abroad. With Expart my main focus is coaching expat (repat) partners in how to find a new direction in their career or gaining insights into alternative opportunities and supporting them in reaching their goals.
People’s interests, motivations and career choices have always intrigued me.
As a result of all my international experiences I have strongly developed my social skills and learnt to be flexible, objective and respectful.
Clients I work with tell me I am good at asking the probing questions that help them find new insight. Furthermore I am a pragmatic, goal-orientated person and capable of helping others set realistic goals and achieve them.
Besides Expart, I work freelance as a Country and Repatriation Expert for KIT (Royal Tropical Institute) Intercultural Professionals and as a freelance trainer conducting MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) workshops.
In 1992, I graduated from the Hotel school of The Hague. I am a Certified Practitioner of the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) Instrument and I gained the certification of Career Counselling/Professionals from Schouten and Nelissen in the Netherlands.
I have access to the Schouten and Nelissen’s online Career Planner tool and the MBTI Instrument trough OPP (Amsterdam) and CPP (Singapore).
I am registered as a nominated member of the NOLOC (Dutch organisation for Career and Outplacement Consultants).
Most importantly for me, I want to make a difference to people’s lives by helping them in career guidance and finding their professional direction in a new environment.
